Build Bridges with Language
Because language is a natural demarkation of difference, it offers a great place to start educating kids on diversity. Try this at home by teaching your child to say “Hello” in a number of languages. If you live in multicultural environment, choose the languages of the people with whom your children interact on a daily basis. Not only will this give them a frame of reference, which will help them remember the information, but it provides them with a fun opportunity to use this new knowledge and create connections with individuals outside their own culture.
